FLAMEBREAK • FIRE DOOR SUPPLY
Build the doorset visually as you specify it. Every selection remains subject to the applicable manufacturer evidence / Field of Application before supply.
STEP 01
STEP 02
For a complete doorset, enter the measured structural opening. We will determine the appropriate manufacturing sizes and required fitting tolerance subject to the approved doorset detail.
For a complete doorset the leaf size is calculated from the structural opening and is locked. Choose an unequal pair if you need a main leaf and smaller slave leaf.
Use the Flamebreak standard hinge positions, or request positions to align the new doorset with adjacent existing doors. Requested positions will only be accepted where they fall within the permitted zones in the applicable technical evidence.
Certification-controlled: permitted hinge zones will be taken from the applicable Flamebreak manual / Field of Application. No unverified hinge range will be assumed.
Would you like the replacement door leaf / leaves routed to receive the perimeter intumescent strip?
For a door-leaf-only order we need the handing and existing hinge preparation so the replacement leaf can be manufactured to suit the opening.
Always make this selection while standing on the OPENING FACE of the door. The opening face is the face where the hinge knuckles are visible and the door opens towards you. Do not select left/right from the opposite side.
For an equal pair, select the ACTIVE leaf — the leaf that opens first. For an unequal pair the wider/main leaf controls the handing.
Flamebreak convention follows BS EN 12519: viewed from the opening face, hinge knuckle left = LH and hinge knuckle right = RH. For unequal pairs handing relates to the wider leaf; for equal pairs it relates to the active (first-operating) leaf.
Enter the existing hinge positions measured from the top of the door leaf. These are replacement-leaf site dimensions and are separate from the certified hinge-position rules used for a complete Flamebreak doorset.
STEP 03
Frame dimensions and profile must suit the wall construction and remain within the applicable doorset evidence.
Measure the finished wall thickness, including relevant finishes. Frame depth, stop/rebate dimensions and any lining arrangement will be confirmed against the selected doorset specification.
STEP 04
Enter the required visible panel size and its position on the door leaf. The live doorset preview will move and resize the vision panel to reflect your selections.
Leading edge means the closing edge of the leaf, opposite the hinges. Position dimensions are recorded from the door leaf edge.
Glazing dimensions, location, glass type, aperture size, edge distances and beading are certification-dependent. A requested arrangement will only be accepted where it falls within the applicable manufacturer evidence / Field of Application.
STEP 05
FD60 hardware catalogue — Flamebreak FEA/F02141 Revision M. Select tested/approved products below. Alternative hardware is only acceptable where it satisfies the dimensional, material, certification and intumescent requirements of the Field of Application.
FD60 hardware rules: hardware generally must be at least 200mm from other hardware unless supporting test evidence permits closer proximity. Required intumescent protection must follow section 10.2. Flush bolts are restricted by leaf type/configuration and are not permitted with the identified 5mm-spaced perimeter seal specifications. Final compatibility remains subject to the complete selected doorset specification.
STEP 06
For factory-painted doors, enter the required RAL reference. We will confirm colour availability and finish as part of the quotation.
The frame can be finished independently from the door leaf — for example, a beech veneered door with a painted frame.
STEP 07
Important: this configurator creates a specification enquiry, not an automatic certification declaration. The final doorset will be validated against the applicable manufacturer evidence / Field of Application before acceptance.
